Why Science Bowl? Science Bowl helps students further their interests in science, as well as provide an intellectually stimulating atmosphere to interact productively with other students and communicate ideas effectively. Additionally, Science Bowl encourages students to excel in science and mathematics and pursue careers in those fields.

Feedback from student and parent:
— The Science Bowl class covered a variety of different and interesting topics in the general idea of mathematics. The first hour, we introduced ourselves by answering some questions about what we wanted to learn during the class, and got to know our classmates better. Then, we learned about the breakdown of the Science Bowl competition and the basic rules. After that, we learned about the concepts that we would later review in a thrilling game of the actual Science Bowl! We learned so much, including logarithms, basic review of factoring, counting and probability, graphing circles, and the Principle of Inclusion-Exclusion. After, we had a brief break, and then held a couple exciting rounds of the mathematics portion of a simulated game that had actual mathematics questions from previous Science Bowl competitions. Overall, the class was absolutely amazing. I can’t wait until the next session!
— I am so happy to let you know that Edwin had just nominated by his school team today after a few rounds of competition at his school and thanks everyone at your center especially those two young instructors. As I mentioned to you before, I feel strongly that young instructors(high performing high school students) can be not just good teachers, but also good role models for middle schoolers. My son had never thought about science nor regard himself as a science type before. He didn’t even had the confident to join the Science Club at his middle school(Stanley Middle is a California Distinguished School with a API of 945 last year). I was just trying to get him away from heavy gaming and get him interested in doing something stimulating and constructive. I was telling Edwin that now we are the one who travelled the most distance to attend classes, but I hope, in one day, he can be the one who get into those subject the most or deepest. Now he is on his way…
Thanks again for your kind help !
