MagzGRWS English Class

MagzGRWS English Class

Why English?

The course will build upon skills that allow students to read and write effectively, abilities that are invaluable for success in high school English classes, college essay-writing, and standardized testing such as the ACT or SAT. Proficiency in reading and writing also will benefit students throughout their entire careers, as effective communication is quickly becoming a required asset in the modern workplace.

Program Description:

The weeklong camp will focus on each of the four aspects of English: Grammar, Reading Writing, and Speaking. During each session, students will develop understanding of these four aspects through the reading, response and analysis of articles from various magazine publications. The format of the lessons will be modeled after the reading comprehension, grammar, and writing skills necessary to succeed in both standardized testing like the ACT and higher-level English classes, and thus will build the foundations for future success in those areas.
