感恩节征文初中组(5)

Our lives consist of both the little and meaningful moments. Some of these memories may pain us, while the others bring immense joy. Regardless of what these experiences are like, we should still be thankful to them. Each and every encounter helps us become a stronger and better person. They make up who we are, and without them, we would be nothing. Thanksgiving is the perfect time to sit down and ask ourselves, who and what am I thankful for? Continue reading

A breeze of sunny autumn air cavorts in my hair as I pedal furiously down the passionately sunlit road, crashing through piles of scintillating maple and oak leaves decorated in fervid streaks of red and yellow.  Lines of orange-leaved trees tower over me like an opalescent picket fence.  The pleasant aroma of warm pumpkin pie runs up and performs a cheerful dance, then bows and travels to the next passerby.  Biking home on Thanksgiving Day, I’m eager to celebrate not only my appreciation, but a hearty meal as well with my friends and family. Thanksgiving is a time of joy and appreciation. It’s a time when family and friends gather together and give thanks for all that they have. Most importantly to give thanks to God for surrounding us with outstanding and loving people. It’s also a time to reflect and be grateful for the things we have. Things like food, a bed, a house, and many other resources we need in a daily basis. Personally I am grateful for many important reasons. Although I have quite a few, I’m mostly grateful to God . Macy’s Day Parade

11th grader

Every year, Macy’s hosts its annual Thanksgiving Day Parade in Manhattan which attracts more than 3.5 million people to the streets of New York City each year, as well 50 million TV viewers nationwide. The parade lasts three hours long and completes a 2.6 mile course. It is said to be the most widely holiday parade celebrated in the United States. Thanksgiving–感恩节征文初中组(4)

Thanksgiving

People often take things for granted, which is completely natural. It is normal, as human beings, that we don’t notice something’s worth until that thing is lost. That is the reason I believe that there should be a time for people to appreciate everything they value at the moment, before those things are lost and gone. The things that can obtain value to someone can be anyone or anything, such as a family member, or even an item, like a piece of jewelry passed down from earlier generations. The worth of people, objects and thoughts in someone’s life is just one of those thoughts that he or she doesn’t necessarily think about everyday no matter how relevant those things really are. That is why I insist that a day or two are needed for people to stop and make a list in our minds about things we are grateful for and to give credit to people or things that deserve it. What better day is there (for Americans) to do this than Thanksgiving? Continue reading

Thanksgiving–感恩节征文初中组(3)

Thanksgiving

7th Grader

To most people in the world, Thanksgiving is something simple, a mere holiday that celebrates the first union between Europeans and Native Americans. The minority of the world though, don’t see it in that way at all, they see it as much more than that simple definition. They see it as a day to celebrate and rejoice about family, and also what truly matters in the world to them. Continue reading

Impassioned–感恩节征文高中组(5)

Impassioned

It’s a Tuesday morning, around 5:45 am, and I am standing at the edge of the pool. The sun hasn’t risen yet, and it’s dark. The pool is empty. I guess I could sleep in for an extra two or three hours, or head over to the pool, the bitterly cold, yet welcoming pool, where practice starts before I am mentally awake. It should’ve been obvious – “sleeping in” seems like a luxury as compared to my daily summer routine: wake up at 5:30 every day to be in the pool by 6. Why should I be punishing myself like this? Continue reading

I’m actually quite a thankful person. Not to brag or anything, but that’s a quality I have in me. Now what does being thankful actually mean? well, it means to express gratitude, and to appreciate what really means a lot. I personally, am quite thankful even to the smallest of things. I will cherish each small thing that someone would do for me, which I’d be gladly thankful for. And I’d most gladly to tell what I am thankful for. Continue reading

Sweet as M&Ms

At the sound of the bell, I eagerly run out of the door to begin my daily sprint for front spot in the brunch line.  Like a tunnel-visioned horse, I bolt through the cafeteria doors, grab one of the few remaining peanut butter jelly sandwiches, pay, and nibble slowly at what would be my fuel for the next few hours.  Hurrying to my upcoming club meeting, I am abruptly stopped by my best friend, Michael Munson.  His bouncy gait suggested he was going to ask me for something. Continue reading
