The speaker will share with us his personal experience as a serial entrepreneur, as well as his thoughts about entrepreneurship and building technology companies. As a venture capitalist, the speaker will also provide us the insights into funding startups from VC’s perspective. In addition, the speaker will talk about opportunities in technology and China related sectors, and give us a brief introduction to GSR ventures. In the interactive discussion, the speaker will address your specific questions.

Bio: Jack Jia joined GSR as a Partner in June 2010 and focuses on investments in the Internet, wireless, and software sectors. Prior to GSR, Jack is the founder, Chairman and CEO of Baynote, Inc., a software innovator that develops recommendation and search technology for the adaptive web. Jack continues to serve as Executive Chairman for Baynote. Prior to Baynote, Jack was Senior Vice President and founding CTO of Interwoven Inc. (NASDAQ IWOV, now Autonomy), a leading software company that pioneered the content management category, with a market capitalization of $7 billion in 2000. Before Interwoven, he was a founder and CEO of V-max America. Jack also led engineering and development at SGI, Sun Microsystems, Stratus, and NASA. He holds more than twenty technology patents. Jack is a board member and former President of Hua Yuan Science and Technology Association (HYSTA). Jack received an MBA from Santa Clara University, MSEE from NYU-Poly, and BSEE/MSCE from Beijing Jiaotong University. Jack was awarded Outstanding Alumni by the five Jiaotong universities in 2010.
