除非Stop SB48，2012年1月起，加州公立学校教材将会被改编，加入同性恋人士对社会的贡献，“to include positive discussions of the sexual orientations of transgender, bisexual, and gay Americans in all social science courses.” Parents have no right to opt-out this teaching.
我不反对同性恋人士对社会的贡献，但为什么一定要跟孩子讲他们的性倾向？又如何跟孩子解释transgenderism, bisexuality, and homosexuality这些概念？在孩子对性向还模糊的时候，老师和教科书的影响力是极具渗透性的。让孩子们把这些人作为榜样(role model)来教，会有什么样的作用？据我所知，学校教材是重复使用的。在加州政府面临财政危机之际，化这样的人力物力精力来修改重印教材，加入这样有争议性的话题，对纳税人和家长公平吗？
