今天是我的生日。昨晚我就在想不知道有没有人能想到今天是我的生日。早上我叫了孩子们起床，早饭做好，摆上桌，也没人说一声“生日快乐”的话。正失望的时候，15岁的老大心满出来，双手拿着一张纸，笑嘻嘻地递给我：“妈妈，这是我给你的生日礼物。祝你生日快乐。”
 
 这是一张白纸，黑字，没有任何装饰，也没有一个信封装着。但我没读几个字，眼泪就几乎掉了下来。
     “亲爱的妈妈：
     我的生活里，你总是在我身旁。不论我做了什么，也不论我在什么样的境况下。
     虽然我能给你的只是这封信。它没有化费一分钱，但我希望你在这封信里能发现它的价值。
     当我需要你的时候，你总是愿意帮助我，总是愿意为我牺牲你自己。
     我不知道怎么感谢你，因为我永远无法充分表达我的感谢。
 
     我很抱歉，有很多时候，我做错了事，惹你生气。现在我明白了为什么你不愿意我做那些我做的事。不论你做什么，你都是为了我的好处，为使我一生能有幸福的 生活。
     我很抱歉，当我错了，你对了的时候，我还质疑你。我希望我能记住，你总是努力帮我，你从不为自己考虑，只是为了我。
 
     谢谢你教了我那么多。不仅教导我读书方面的，你还教了我人生的道理。
     谢谢你为我煮饭，因为你爱我。—-尽管我知道你最不喜欢煮饭，
     谢谢你在我灵命的路上带领我—–没有你，也许上帝会看起来很远。
     谢谢你关心我。在你自己状态不好的时候，在你很忙的时候，在你生病的时候，在你不顺心的时候，你都关心我。
 
      有太多的东西我要感谢你，因为你给了我太多太多。
      你永远是最棒的妈妈。
      爱你的儿子”
 
     这实在是我收到的最美，最有价值的生日礼物了。谢谢你，儿子。

Dear mom,
 
All my life, you’ve been there for me. No matter what I did, no matter what situation I was in.

You’re always willing to help me when I need you, always willing to sacrifice for me.
 
I don’t know how to thank you, because I can never thank you enough.
I’m sorry for the time I’ve angered you, when I did wrong. Now I know why you didn’t want me to do what I did. whatever you do, you do it so I can live better, so I can live a happier life.
