7/13 to 7/17 Public Speaking & Debate Camp for Middle School Students

Establishing good public speaking skills is pertinent to a variety of tasks. Whether it be presentation or discussion, confidence in public speaking is essential to the successful communication and persuasion of your thoughts and ideas.

This camp will cover from the basics of speaking & debate skills to how to make one’s speaking stand out. Students will also learn different forms of speaking, such as persuasive speeches, impromptu speeches, and everyday conversational thinking. Leroy will also help students understand how to structure speeches for effectiveness and will teach students about history’s greatest speakers as examples of good speaking.

Leroy has extensive experience in Speech and Debate. He has taught middle school and high school students alike in public speaking and debate techniques. His experiences include organizing and teaching at a summer camp for over 100 students from 4th – 8th grade. He holds many leadership positions both in and out of school so he is constantly interacting with parents and students. His successes can be attributed partly to his affinity for communication. In this seminar, he will be sharing how developing communication skills can help your student go from being an average student to a great student or from a great student to an exceptional one.
