Parent Appreciation Essay

Emily Wang

Whenever the time, whether it be midnight or late afternoon, I know my mom won’t ever forget me. Wherever I am, in the doctor’s office or in China, I can count on her voice to soothe me and help me be brave. However far I am from home or however disobedient I am, I can trust that she will love me. Anyone else who knows me or takes care of me cannot compare to my mom. I realize, I am a part of her and her life, and whatever she does is always to help me. I wholeheartedly appreciate my mom’s effort. Continue reading

Parent Appreciation Essay

My parents. They do so much for me. They provide food, a home, and care for my brother and me. But I take all of this for granted and in return, give them trouble and anxiety. First generation parents, such as my parents suffer even more. My father had to face the tough challenge of learning the American culture, finding jobs, and keeping his traditions alive in their children. Continue reading

My Mother — 感恩父母征文竞赛-初中组荣誉奖(6)

My Mother

My mother is the person who will always be there for me. Seven years ago, I came to America, only able to speak three English words. By the time school started, I could not communicate with my fellow classmates, or even understand what the teacher was saying. When the teacher called my name, I did not even realize it. I felt frustrated and uneasy. At that time, it was my mom who stood out. My mother did everything she could to help. Continue reading

Sacrifices

Though the main concerns of most humans are limited to that of food, water, and shelter, my mom’s concern expands far beyond that. As well as being concerned with food, water, and shelter, she is also primarily concerned about me. Her child’s wellbeing and education influences her every decision, even more than her own well being influences her. Continue reading

Recognizing the Love from Our Parents-感恩父母征文竞赛-初中组荣誉奖(4)

Recognizing the Love from Our Parents

In this modern world that we live in, all our parents are concerned about is us. We, as kids, are ignorant to the extent that we imagine that all the classes, extracurriculars, and other things that that our parents “force” to do are supposedly torture for us. Complaints and excuses are all that comes out of our mouths when our parents tell us about them. But, looking on the perspective of a parent, we can see how how it is to sign up a single child for a single class or event, a these bring even more stress to the parent. They will have to send and pick up the us, and fit this class into the already busy schedule that they already have. As always, all of their action not only benefit us as children, but our parents try to
leave us as carefree as possible. Continue reading

America: Home of the Brave

Ray Wang

Ernest Dimnet once mentioned, “Children have to be educated, but they have also to be left to educate themselves.” For parents around the globe, education for one’s child is the highest priority. In my parent’s perspective, education is the difference between success and failure in life. However, a question remains lingering: What kind of education do we want for our child? Continue reading

My Mom -感恩父母征文竞赛-初中组三等奖(3)

My Mom

In my memory, the first time my mom told me that she loved me, I was too small to understand what love really meant. I would agree and say that I loved her, too. Over time, I wondered why she still loved me, even if I messed the house up, threw tantrums, and got into fights with my siblings. It took me a long time to understand and appreciate what love is; my mom’s love is patience and persistence. I really appreciate the patience that my mom has. One of the hardest things my mom tries to teach me is how to stay organized. Continue reading

One time, in 6th grade, I received a writing assignment to write about a major event in my mom’s life. To me, the choice was obvious: her journey to America. I thought, “All right, I’ll just write something good enough to pass; not extraordinary, not amazing; just average.” Continue reading

Awestruck

 …Eaton, Ellis, Everett…

My mind raced as the speaker read the graduates names and I contemplated my future, awestruck. Today was the last day and the final step of my journey. Receiving my MBA from Haas Business School for my startup in empowering girls in third-world countries through literacy, technology, and athletics was the final and greatest accomplishment of my life so far. None of this would have been possible without you, Mom. Continue reading
