Lynbrook Speech and Debate is excited to host our fourth year of this exclusive middle school speech and debate camp and have put together an invigorating curriculum, with high-class teaching and individualized feedback, for all students enrolled. The camp will be held from July 30th to August 3rd at Lynbrook High School, and it is open to incoming 5th and 9th graders. The students will separated according to age and experience so that we can tailor our teaching style accordingly. Each day, students will attend the camp from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
The fee’s are as follows
The camp will first be focused on speech-writing and speech delivery to hone the students’ ability to put their thoughts on paper and translate them into coherent words when speaking. Then, students will learn proper techniques of argumentation and how to construct arguments, with lessons and practice on actual debating. The camp will culminate with an intra-camp tournament in which students will debate against each other to apply their knowledge in a practical situation.
We guarantee a 5:1 student-to-teacher ratio for each classroom, ensuring that each student receives special, individualized attention to maximize their success. Moreover, instructors for the Camp have been accepted by many prestigious universities, including MIT, Stanford, Yale, UPenn, Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, Rice, UC Berkeley, UCLA, and more.
