Parent Appreciation Essay

Whenever the time, whether it be midnight or late afternoon, I know my mom won’t ever forget me. Wherever I am, in the doctor’s office or in China, I can count on her voice to soothe me and help me be brave. However far I am from home or however disobedient I am, I can trust that she will love me. Anyone else who knows me or takes care of me cannot compare to my mom. I realize, I am a part of her and her life, and whatever she does is always to help me. I wholeheartedly appreciate my mom’s effort.
Every morning my mom gets my clothes for me and lays them on my bed. Every day she looks over my work, and helps me figure out and fix the wrong parts. Every night she sings a lullaby, even to this day. If I don’t keep my promises and break the rules, she teaches me and doesn’t go all soft and nice and just forgive me right away. “Every sin has a consequence.” she says. I appreciate her way of teaching. Kids are smart. They can get around everything, including rules, the Internet, and even parents. But it is the parents’ job to help lead them in the right way. My mom has always done that, and even if I don’t follow, she always keeps trying. I always appreciate her perseverance in helping me learn the right thing.
My mom’s thinking is different from many other mothers. Instead of thinking going on vacation is not as effective as writing and making geography reports, she thinks that going to real places has more impact on kids. I really appreciate her way of thinking. This way, my brother and I are growing up in an environment of exploration, instead of a world of flat pictures. I really owe my mother more than a hug and a thank you for what she is doing for me. Also, a good mother always spends more time with her children than with her work. I appreciate the time she spends just to make sure I understand everything. Every Saturday, I have five hours of drawing class, she accompanies me for the whole class. If I don’t have questions, my mom sits in a corner of the classroom and studies Chinese history after finishing her weekend work.
My mom really deserves to be appreciated. As she works and tries so hard to guide me to a bright future, I appreciate both her efforts and ways of thinking.
